The vest has fleece on both sides, YKK zipper and cotton canvas pockets.

The outer visible material of the fleece is 100% merino wool. The wool fleece is held in place by a nylon mesh, which is hidden in the middle of the textile.

The vest feels very light and airy, which also makes it extremely insulating - especially when worn with a windproof outer layer to retain air and warmth. When worn alone, the vest allows air to pass through the fabric more easily, making it less warm.

Vest sizes follow our unisex distribution, which corresponds to these sizes in our T-shirts:

Double-sided fleece with a visible surface of 100% merino wool. A nylon mesh, hidden inside the textile, holds the wool fleece in place. The airy construction insulates while still allowing airflow when worn without a shell.

Which version of the FV-280 is this?

This is the original V1.0 outlet model. It has double-sided merino fleece, a YKK front zipper and cotton-canvas hand pockets. The inner zip pocket, zipper garage and hanging loop introduced on V2.0 are not part of this version.

How should I use the fleece vest for layering?

Wear it over a T-shirt or long-sleeve for extra warmth around your torso while keeping your arms free. In colder or windy conditions, add a windproof shell to retain more heat.

Is the vest windproof?

No. The fleece is light and airy, so air can pass through when the vest is worn on its own. This improves breathability; for more warmth and wind protection, wear it under a windproof outer layer.

How should I wash and care for merino to make it last?

Merino lasts longer with gentle care:

  • Use a wool/delicate cycle with wool detergent
  • Use laundry net when machine washing - available here.
  • Air it out between wears and wash only when needed

Tip: Merino often benefits from airing out between wears, meaning fewer washes and longer life.
