other questions frequently asked

It depends on how you use the T-shirt, but typically for every 5-7 days you wear it. Otherwise if it seems dirty, wash it :)

Wool is not as durable as other fabrics, small holes might appear after machine washing. Be aware of zippers and big buttons on other items when washing.

It is probably from the hanger. Use one that is a bit wider and extends to the shoulders. Give it a wash and the bump disappears.

When machine washing a small amount of fabric (0,5-1mm), that is not covered by the seam in the bottom of the T-shirt, can loosen. It is safe to cut these away, it won't affect the quality and lifetime of the T-shirt.

It is either caused from washing the T-shirt with regular detergent, moth or machine washing with zippers or big buttons. If the holes have not developed in size, they can usually be repaired.

It might be caused from the way the T-shirt was dried. Try using a wide hanger. You can also iron the T-shirt, see instructions above

You can do a normalt machine wash with regular detergent, it will efficiently remove the smell. The smell can be caused by wearing the T-shirts next to other fabrics that develop odor.

If it is caused by deodorant the strains can be removed by soaking the T-shirt for 3-4 hours in regular clear vinegar. Do a normal wash. If the strains do not disappear, repeat the process.

This is normal for wool, and very difficult to avoid in the manufacturing process. It can be reduced by drying it in the right shape. The twist will be reduced a lot after some hours of wearing.

Merino wool, like everything else, fades over time, even in direct sunlight. Although Merino wool is slightly more prone to fading than other materials (following the same principle that human hair lightens in the summer), all clothing fades in principle in sunlight.

However, since our T-shirts are worn more often and for longer periods of time, they also fade faster. A cotton T-shirt is worn for one day, then sits in the laundry basket for a week or two, so there's a natural limit to how many times you can wear it over the course of a summer. A cotton T-shirt will also fade in the wash before it fades in sunlight, so you won't see it there either.

Some people actually appreciate the fading and the life the garment gets, much like jeans do over time - and they use T-shirts for more than just pretty wear.

You can re-dye T-shirts with most textile dyes for cotton, following the instructions on the package, Dylon from Matas for example.

If it has been worn a lot and is a year old, it is not a T-shirt we can exchange for a new one. However, if you find that a brand new one fades in a short period of time, we can of course do something about it.

The end of a seams can be cut - do not tear them.

There may be 1-2mm of extra fabric. This can unravel (especially after machine washing). You can cut these threads off. Be careful not to cut the seam.

We do not recommend removing the washing instructions, it is made of a soft material that does not bother. If you do, cut the white material only. Do not rip the seam. It will leave a hole :)

Dents or bumps on the shoulders of LOOW t-shirts occur if you use hangers that are relatively thin, the t-shirt will mold to the hanger when wet. Preferably use a more solid hanger, such as those used for suits and the like. Alternatively, you can also just use a clothesline. One of wool's abilities is that it stays in the shape it dries in (like morning hair after a shower the night before). However, the dents from the hangers will only be visible until the next wash if you have used a slightly "sharper" hanger. It's also a good idea to dry your products inside out to correct any bumps on the shoulders.

It is important to point out that products that are woven with a single thread intentionally have a slightly skewed thread direction/weave to compensate for skewing in the product, e.g. after x number of washes, the back will start to turn over on the stomach. This is prevented with this process, where the weave is angled slightly. Only the trained eye and knowledge of this on a t-shirt would notice this.

How do I repair a hole in my LOOW T-shirt?

Small holes can be easily repaired. But make sure you get it done as soon as you notice them - they get bigger after washing and further use. If the hole is due to a defect in the garment, we will of course exchange it for a new product.

We can recommend the following video for repairing small holes by clicking this link.
