How to use the measurements
Width is measured flat about 2 cm below the armhole.
- Garment chest ≈ width × 2 (circumference).
- Measure a T-shirt you already love, and match it to the table above.
- Measurements are taken with slight stretch in the fabric and can vary up to 2 cm.
After washing & fit over time
- They only settle slightly with wear and washing. Follow the care instructions to keep the fit looking great.
- If you’re between sizes, size up.
Frequently asked questions for 220/200/180 T-shirts
Here you’ll find answers to the most common sizing and fit questions for our 200/220 fabrics.
Do 200/220 fit differently than 135/160?
Yes, slightly. 200/220 are designed for a heavier fabric and are therefore made a bit wider than 135/160.
- Want the same close look as your 135/160? Consider sizing down by one.
- Want regular fit or room for layering? Choose your usual size.
I’m between sizes — what should I pick?
Choose based on the fit you want:
- Close fit: pick the smaller size.
- Regular fit: choose your usual size (or the larger one if you’re in-between).
- Relaxed fit / layering: pick the larger size.
How do I use “width” and “length” correctly?
The most precise method is to measure a T-shirt you already love and compare it to the table.
- Width is measured flat about 2 cm below the armhole (half chest).
- Garment chest ≈ width × 2 (circumference).
- Expect small variations — measurements may vary by up to ~2 cm.
Will 200/220 shrink after washing?
Merino may settle slightly with washing and wear, but with proper care the fit stays looking great.
- Use a wool/delicate cycle with wool detergent.
- Avoid fabric softener and tumble drying.
- Air dry and gently reshape after washing.
I want to wear it as a base layer — which size?
For base layering, most people prefer a slightly closer fit so the layers sit neatly.
- Typically choose your usual size for a close/regular base-layer fit.
- If you’re between sizes, often choose the smaller size.
