This outlet edition of ZN-240 is our men's Zip Neck with a zip at the neck and rib at the neck and cuffs. It is made as a soft, warm layer to wear on its own or over a T-shirt. Open the zip when you want a little more air.

We use a very loosely knitted fabric with small loops on the inside. The open structure feels airy and provides insulation without a dense fabric. Both the fabric and the rib are knitted in Denmark from 100% merino wool. We chose pure wool for its comfort and temperature regulation.

The loose knit also means threads can catch and be pulled out more easily, and the fabric is more vulnerable to wear than a denser knit. Friction can also cause small balls of fibre to form on the pure wool surface, known as pilling. This comes with the choice of this soft, open fabric.

The top has a generous fit. Choose one size smaller than usual for a closer fit, or your usual size for a more relaxed fit.

YKK zipper

We use high quality zippers from YKK, made in Europe. The zipper automatically locks when it is pulled down to secure the neck brace from opening inconveniently. The pull-tab unlocks when raised again. 

THE NECK BRACE

The top of the neck brace features a “zipper garage” - a great little detail that spares you from the irritation and coldness of the zipper directly against your skin. The inside of the zipper features an extra layer of textile that protects the skin from the wind and keeps you warm and comfortable. If you get hot it can be opened all the way down to the chest letting fresh air in.

THE RIB

The firmness of the rib prevents the fabric from losing form, so the sleeves won’t be loose after a few hours of wear. The thumb hole keeps the sleeve in place when putting on a jacket or doing physical activities.It further helps to keep you warm, as it protects the heat that radiates from your wrists from slipping out.

How should it fit?

Choose a size smaller than usual for a regular fit. If you plan to layer a tee underneath and want more room, choose your normal size. The zipper should sit comfortably at the throat without feeling restrictive.

Is it good for sports — or more for everyday?

Both. Zip necks are built for movement and temperature shifts, but they also look clean and minimal for daily wear. It’s one of the easiest ‘do-it-all’ merino layers.

How should I wash and care for merino to make it last?

Merino lasts longer with gentle care:

  • Use a wool/delicate cycle with wool detergent
  • Use laundry net when machine washing - available here.
  • Air it out between wears and wash only when needed

Tip: Merino often benefits from airing out between wears, meaning fewer washes and longer life.
